| What is coaching like? |
|
When you have decided you would like to explore coaching, contact Kim to set up a complimentary sample coaching session. The session can take place in person or over the phone. You will discuss your reasons for seeking a coach, and Kim will describe her policies and methods. If you choose to begin your coaching relationship with Kim, you will receive paperwork to complete. Your answers will indicate your capabilities and what has worked for you in your life. How you answer these questions provides information on how you approach life and what direction you would like to travel. These will be the anchor throughout the coaching process. In the initial session the coaching agreement will be defined. You will establish a time to meet weekly, for an hour each week, for a minimum of 8 weeks. The coaching session format will be roughly the same each week. First, Kim will check in with you on how you are doing in general. Then the conversation will revolve around an area of your choice. Kim will listen, reflect your ideas back to you and and ask powerful questions. From those conversations, you will establish actions to take on. Kim will also invite you to do exercises on certain mental muscles or practice techniques. Coaching can be confrontive and uncomfortable at times and you may feel like quitting prematurely. Often what comes up is a pattern that has stopped you in the past. Therefore, you will be encouraged to continue to engage in coaching so that you can work through that pattern and come to completion. You will have the option to continue your coaching relationship as long as you desire after the 8 weeks. |
